Rehearsals for May 9 Celebration Kick Off in Moscow
In Moscow's Red Square, rehearsals have begun for the parade dedicated to the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, reports a correspondent from RIA Novosti.
About 11,000 servicemen will march across the paving stones. Along the walls of the Kremlin, units from Suvorov military schools, higher military educational institutions, female military personnel, various branches of the armed forces, as well as other law enforcement agencies and Cossack formations will participate in the ceremony.
The mechanized column will traditionally be opened by the legendary T-34-85 tank. This will be followed by Typhoon-K and Typhoon-VDV armored vehicles, Kurganets, BMP-2 and BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles, as well as T-72B3M, T-90M, and T-14 Armata tanks.
After the tanks, there will be BTR-82A and Tornado-G multiple launch rocket systems, Iskander-M missile systems, and Msta-S self-propelled artillery systems.
