‘For Andranik Kocharyan, serving in the army was probably a punishment’ – Movses Hakobyan
“For thousands of people, serving in the army has been an honor and still is,” said Movses Hakobyan, a military figure of Armenia and Artsakh, Major General, in an interview with the "Faktinfo" news outlet, responding to a question about why some officials from the ruling party have been persistently trying to spread fear and intimidation within the group of citizens who have taken to the streets in recent days.
It is noteworthy that recently, Andranik Kocharyan, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on Defense and Security, proposed discussing the issue of sending citizens detained by the police for participating in acts of civil disobedience to three-month gatherings, which has become a matter of debate in the National Assembly.
Commenting on Kocharyan's statement, Movses Hakobyan noted, “For Andranik Kocharyan, serving in the army was probably a punishment if he is trying to respond in such a way regarding citizens detained during street protests,” said Major General Movses Hakobyan.
