«Anna, We Brought You Jewelry»: Women Remind Anna Hakobyan of Her Statement on Melting Bullets into Jewelry
The women participants in the march that started from France Square stopped in front of the Government Summer Residence. "Women's insistence is the strongest here; there are women who have lost sons, girls who have lost their beloved boys, teachers who have lost students, and women who want to live in peace. Nikol, you need to leave for us to live in peace," announced Anna Grigoryan, a member of the ‘Armenia’ parliamentary faction.
"The demand of Armenian women will be decisive for you, and you won’t be able to escape. We have come to stay, and we will block this intersection; no one will take us away from here; we will remain as long as we want," she stated.
Grigoryan declared that women will be the driving force and symbol of this struggle. The women brought jewelry with them to present to Anna Hakobyan, reminding her of her statement years ago that bullets should be melted into jewelry. "Anna, we brought you jewelry; take it and leave from here, let the people have peace," Grigoryan said.
It is noteworthy that in 2018, during a trip to Artsakh with participants of the ‘Women for Peace’ action, Anna Hakobyan visited the frontline. Hakobyan expressed confidence that all the bullets in the world would melt from the warmth of a mother's boundless love.
