European Commission Will Bear Full Responsibility for Historic Failure of Euro-Integration Process, Orbán on Russian Gas Embargo

If the European Commission continues to insist on the proposal for an oil embargo against Russia, it will bear full responsibility for the historic failure of the euro-integration process. This was stated by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Orbán emphasized that the measures proposed by the EC require alternative supply infrastructure and a complete restructuring of Hungary's refining capacities. Such steps 'require time and investment.'

It is noteworthy that Hungary has opposed the European Union's imposition of sanctions on Russian oil and gas supplies.
