United Kingdom Imposes Sanctions Against Evraz

The United Kingdom has included the metallurgical and mining company Evraz in its sanctions list following the restrictions imposed on its co-owner Roman Abramovich. This was reported by the country's Foreign Office, as noted by Газета.

“Today, the UK government announced the implementation of sanctions against Evraz PLC. The metallurgical and mining company operates in industries that are strategically important to the Russian government,” the statement reads.

The ministry emphasized that the company produces 28% of all railway wheels and 97% of railway tracks in Russia, and its sanctioning is “vital,” as it facilitates the transportation of weapons to Ukraine by Russian authorities.

It was noted that since the beginning of the special operation, the UK has imposed sanctions on more than 1,000 individuals and over 100 Russian enterprises.
