Ukrainians Push Russians Out of Azovstal Area
Ukrainian defenders holding the line at the Azovstal factory have successfully repelled the Russian offensive. Ukrainians managed to push the Russians out of the factory area. This was announced by Oleksii Arestovych, an advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.
According to obozrevatel.com, on the previous day, May 4, the Russian side was able to penetrate the Azovstal territory. However, the next day, according to Arestovych, they were pushed back. “Yesterday, Russian troops entered the Azovstal area, but our defenders pushed them out. We are now compiling information,” Arestovych stated. He noted that fighting at Azovstal continues.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine and Russia had agreed to establish a ceasefire regime in the Mariupol Azovstal area from May 5 to 7. The Ukrainian side will use this time to prepare for the evacuation of civilians and the area.
