Incident Occurred During English Class: Ministry of Education Condemns Teacher Hitting Student

The Ministry of Education and Science has strongly condemned unpedagogical behavior. In a statement, the Ministry noted:

“Today, a video surfaced on the internet showing a teacher hitting a student with a book during a lesson, which is unacceptable and inconsistent with pedagogical conduct. In this regard, we inform you that the incident took place at School No. 24 named after Suren Spandaryan in Yerevan (8th grade, English class).

Representatives from the Yerevan City Hall are currently at the mentioned school to investigate the details of the incident. Based on the findings of the investigation, appropriate actions will be taken. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia strongly condemns unpedagogical manifestations in the educational process and is committed to creating an educational environment free from violence in educational institutions.”
