The daily newspaper 'Jamanak' reports that Narek Sargsyan, the nephew of former President Serzh Sargsyan, who has been held in the 'Yerevan Center' penitentiary for about three years, is set to be released under an amnesty.
According to information from 'Jamanak', Sargsyan was transferred from the Czech Republic to Armenia with the assistance of law enforcement officers on December 21, 2019, and subsequently placed in custody. Later, he was released on bail of 25 million AMD as per a decision by the Court of Appeals of Armenia; however, the Court of Cassation annulled this decision, resulting in his re-incarceration.
