VIDEO: As You’ve Always Fled, So You Will Continue to Flee - Pashinyan to Opposition
The gathered people have sent us to present Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's public demand; that is why we are here. This was stated by Armen Rustamyan, a member of the 'Armenia' faction, during a Q&A session in the National Assembly with the government.
He read a statement demanding Pashinyan's resignation. In response, Nikol Pashinyan said: 'I will address your statement point by point. The negotiations process was thwarted by Serzh Sargsyan, who admitted it in his statement from the National Assembly podium on April 17, 2018, indicating that the negotiations process does not inspire optimism and has stalled because Azerbaijan's demands are unacceptable to us. It was Serzh Sargsyan who declared the future war from this podium. He admitted that he could have stopped the war; on September 27, 2020, I said from the podium that I can stop the war right now, provided that Nagorno-Karabakh has a status similar to that of the NKR, meaning within Azerbaijan. If we connect this to the logic presented by Serzh Sargsyan, then it turns out that to prevent war, it was necessary to accept Azerbaijan's unacceptable demands.'
Rustamyan noted that Pashinyan does not control the negotiation process, to which Nikol Pashinyan replied: 'I am about to make a very important revelation now.' The opposition members left the session hall, stating that they did not want to listen.
Pashinyan remarked: 'Oh, you don’t want to listen, then just say that you don’t want to listen; as you’ve always fled, so you will continue to flee. Long live Armenian democracy, the moment I said a revelation is coming, they fled.' The ruling party members applauded the opposition's departure and chanted, 'Prime Minister.' The National Assembly Speaker thanked Nikol Pashinyan.
