Surena Papikyan and the Prime Minister of Georgia Meet
The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Surena Papikyan, met today, May 4, with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense.
During the meeting, the head of Armenia's defense department presented the results of a previous meeting with his Georgian counterpart and the agreements reached regarding the development of bilateral cooperation in the defense sector.
Surena Papikyan also outlined Armenia's efforts to establish peace in the region and emphasized the role of Georgia in these processes.
The Minister of Defense of Armenia thanked the Prime Minister of Georgia for the efforts made towards the return of Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan, which, in particular, allowed for the return of 15 Armenian POWs to Armenia on June 12 of last year.
On May 4, the delegation headed by Surena Papikyan also visited the “Heroes” Square in Tbilisi, laid flowers at the memorial, and paid tribute.
