Andranik Kocharyan Calls on NSS to Transfer Detained Individuals' Data to the Ministry of Defense

Recently, the police of the Republic of Armenia have repeatedly been detaining citizens who violate public order, some of whom are presumably individuals who have avoided mandatory military service and three-month training sessions. This was stated by Andranik Kocharyan, the chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security and a member of the ruling party, on his Facebook page.

He particularly noted, “Considering the above, I urge the Police of the Republic of Armenia and the National Security Service to collect the data of these citizens and transfer it to the Ministry of Defense, which in turn will utilize these ‘well-prepared’ young individuals capable of following simple instructions to enrich our army’s mobilization resources and engage them in ensuring the security of the borders of Armenia and Artsakh.”

Additionally, he mentioned that a working discussion on this topic will soon take place in the permanent committee on defense and security of the National Assembly.

It should also be noted that from early this morning, citizens have once again paralyzed several streets in the capital.
