Aggressive Hooligan Groups Roaming in Yerevan, Law Enforcement's Response Must Be Appropriate: Aghajanyan
The Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Foreign Relations, Eduard Aghajanyan, wrote about an incident that occurred with him on the street on his Facebook page:
“I was walking towards a meeting near France Square. Naturally, I encountered some aggressive looks along the way, but no verbal remarks. Suddenly, a girl wrapped in the flag of Artsakh appeared in front of me, and when she saw me, she could hardly believe her eyes. As I walked past her, she probably confirmed what she saw and yelled, 'Hey you...!' (Editor’s note: Auroranews.am).
This, along with the disgusting episode that occurred today with actor Sos Janibekyan, is everything you need to know about the intense 'political' processes unfolding in the streets of Yerevan these days. Numerous other similar incidents (e.g., the episode involving Armen Martirosyan) can certainly be added to these. And there is truly nothing surprising about it. To realize that, one only needs to listen to the texts of those standing on the platform in the square, whose content is, in essence, nothing but insults.
Accordingly, it must be noted that the force exerted by the police is genuinely disproportionate, in the mildest sense of the word. Aggressively inclined hooligan groups are roaming the streets of Yerevan, and the law enforcement system's response to them must be appropriate. It would be a disaster if people had to walk the streets of Yerevan in fear.”
