Large Fire in Apartment of High-Rise Building in Yerevan
On May 1st, a large fire occurred in Yerevan. At approximately 21:40, the Emergency Situations Ministry's crisis management center received a report of fire and smoke detected in one of the apartments on the second floor of building number 17 on Abelyan Street.
According to shamshyan.com, two fire engines from the Emergency Situations Ministry's rescue service were dispatched promptly, and the fire was classified as a complexity level BIS-1. Additional reinforcements arrived from fire rescue squads number 13 and number 1, each sending one firefighting unit. Based on the need, the aerial ladder from fire squad number 13 also arrived on the scene.
The firefighters battled the significant blaze in apartment number 77, which belongs to Artur Khachatryan, for several hours. The fire was contained after hours of effort.
