Big Ben Reopens in London After Five-Year Renovation

Big Ben has reopened in London following a five-year restoration. The clock on the Elizabeth Tower is once again displaying the correct time. This news was reported by Говорит Москва, referencing Mail Online.

At the end of 2021, passersby noticed that the western clock of Big Ben had been stuck at 12 o'clock. Since then, restoration efforts have continued. Over the past five years, the clock tower and bell mechanism have undergone extensive renovation.

Clock companies from across the United Kingdom were involved in the restoration work. The total cost of the project amounted to £80 million. During the refurbishment, it was revealed that the damage caused by German bombings during World War II was more significant than previously anticipated.
