We Want to Include Russia and Brussels in the Demarcation Commission: Grigoryan
We want to assist the international community, as knowledgeable and institutional document-holding states, to move forward with the demarcation and delimitation process. This was stated by the Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan in an interview with Radio Azatutyun.
In response to a question about what he means by the international community, Grigoryan noted, “We want to include both Russia and Brussels in the delimitation commission. And if we see that additional needs arise, we will have further discussions,” said the Security Council Secretary.
According to the Secretary of the Security Council, Armenia must continue to think about the security environment, as the delimitation process is very complex. “Even with countries where we have very good relations, such as Georgia, we have not yet completed this process because there are several questions to which neither we nor Georgia have the answers, or we have different approaches. And this process has been ongoing for many years, while our relations with Azerbaijan are even more complicated—therefore it is necessary to create an environment where a lack of progress in these negotiations does not affect, for example, the border situation,” Grigoryan emphasized.
