Video: More Than 70 Miners Trapped Underground Due to Shelling in Donetsk
In the Donetsk People's Republic, due to shelling by Ukrainian forces, the ventilation channels of the Chelyuskintsev and Skotchinskii mines have lost power, leaving more than 70 miners underground, reports the Donetsk Ministry of Coal and Energy, citing Ria Novosti.
According to a message on the Ministry's Telegram channel, at 19:15 Moscow time, the latest shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces inflicted damage to the Chelyuskintsev mine and the second western air channel of the Skotchinskii mine.
Preliminary information indicates that 30 miners are trapped in the Chelyuskintsev mine, while 42 people were working at Skotchinskii at the time of the power outage. It is reported that there are no injuries, and the miners will be evacuated.
