Putin and Zelensky Invited to G20 Summit
The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, have been invited to the G20 summit to be held in Indonesia, reports Agence France-Presse.
Earlier, Zelensky mentioned that he had discussions with Indonesian President Joko Widodo, expressing his gratitude for the invitation to the G20 summit.
The agency, citing the Indonesian president, reported that both Putin and Zelensky have received invitations to the event. Widodo disclosed that he had a phone conversation with Putin.
“A telephone conversation took place with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the situation in Ukraine, as well as the activities of the G20. It was emphasized that the war must be halted immediately and the opportunity for peaceful negotiations must be provided,” wrote the Indonesian leader on Twitter.
