Borjomi Halts Production in Georgia
«Borjomi» company has announced that due to financial problems arising from the situation in Ukraine, it is temporarily halting production at its two plants in Georgia. The news was reported by RIA Novosti, citing a statement issued by the company.
“Since the beginning of military operations in Ukraine, IDS Borjomi Georgia has found itself in a difficult situation. The complex situation in the company’s main markets has been exacerbated by limited access to bank accounts, which has hindered the company’s ability to receive foreign currency revenues and make payments to creditors,” the company stated. “The company continues to operate in the hope of significant improvements in the situation, which, unfortunately, have not yet been achieved. As a result of the above, the company is forced to temporarily suspend the production process at the Borjomi bottling plants starting April 29,” the statement said.
