Humanitarian Convoy Shelled Near Belgorod by Ukrainian Armed Forces
Near Belgorod, a humanitarian convoy from Ukraine was shelled, with no casualties reported. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“Yesterday we found ourselves under fire while returning from the Kharkiv region,” said Alyona Berezovskaya, who was part of the convoy at that time.
Berezovskaya noted that around 3:00 PM on Wednesday, as volunteers from the international humanitarian organization “Grandchildren” and the Russian Orthodox Church’s “Patriarchal Volunteer” movement were returning from the Kharkiv region, they came under mortar fire.
“We saw the impacts on residential buildings. I managed to film some footage,” the agency’s interlocutor stated.
According to her, the Ukrainian military noticed the volunteers, who had spent several hours interacting with the residents of the Kharkiv region and unloading humanitarian supplies.
“Apparently, they saw us and decided to eliminate us on our way back. Yet, I must emphasize that only one of our escorts was armed; we were even without a security detail. I am a journalist, a community activist, and we had with us Mikhail Kuksov, the leader of the Patriarchal Volunteer movement, and his associates. I had a driver and three volunteers with me. We had no weapons, apart from bulletproof vests and helmets; we had nothing else,” Anna stated.
