VIDEO: Prime Minister Grieves Deeply Over Incident; Ruling Party MP Provides Details

Four years ago, the Prime Minister walked freely among the people - why didn’t he step down to see what had happened? This was inquired by news.am reporter from the former deputy head of the traffic police and ruling party MP, Armen Khachatryan, in the National Assembly.

“I would like society to ask such questions to officials, including myself, in all cases. For instance, why did this young man die on the Sevan highway, why did this 8-year-old child fall under a car in the city center, and so on. The public's reaction should be uniform. A criminal case should, of course, be initiated, a number of examinations should be assigned, and all circumstances of the incident should be clarified, including which rule was violated in traffic, and who violated it. Regardless of the criminal case, the incident is horrifying, but I repeat, let’s not forget that such incidents happen every day and our struggle should not be for this specific case, but in general. Everything must be done so that fewer people lose their lives in traffic accidents in Armenia, especially in these peaceful conditions. I want you to ask me similar questions about future incidents as well,” said Khachatryan.

When asked by a journalist whether there had been communication with the Prime Minister regarding the incident, ruling party MP Armen Khachatryan replied, “Yes, there has been communication; he grieves deeply.”
