Teachers to Earn 400,000 Drams Starting May 1, Says Pashinyan
Starting May 1, teachers who passed certification last year will have their salaries calculated in the following way: the 50 percent additional payment will be calculated not on the previous rate, but will increase by 200,000 drams. For instance, if a teacher receives a 50 percent bonus through voluntary certification, their salary will rise to 200,000 drams, plus that additional 50 percent, meaning a total of 300,000 drams. This was announced by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a government meeting on April 28.
“In addition to this, the amount corresponding to the classification will also increase according to the relevant procedures. This means that teachers who have passed certification and also hold the appropriate classification can expect to earn 400,000 drams starting May 1,” Pashinyan emphasized.
