UNWTO General Assembly Suspends Russia's Membership
The General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has suspended Russia's membership. This is reported by Kp.ru.
According to the website of Spain’s Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism, the decision was made in connection with the "ongoing military aggression in Ukraine."
The announcement notes that the suspension of Russia's membership will prevent the country from enjoying its rights and benefits, including participating in the organization’s meetings. However, the resolution adopted by the Assembly stipulates that the suspension will be lifted if the General Assembly observes "changes in the political situation" in Russia.
