Has Pashinyan Been Summoned for Questioning? The Prosecutor Responds
The Prosecutor's Office has no constraints; the preliminary investigation is conducted according to the rules set by the criminal procedure legislation. This was stated by Prosecutor Armen Muradyan in a conversation with reporters.
“If sufficient factual data is gathered, an appropriate criminal procedural decision will be made,” he said.
When asked whether Nikol Pashinyan has been summoned for questioning, Muradyan noted that due to the secrecy of the preliminary investigation, he cannot answer that question.
Addressing the question of whether the Anti-Corruption Committee will follow the instructions of the RA Prosecutor General's Office, Muradyan replied, “After the instructions are given, the investigator conducting the proceedings has the opportunity to submit objections to the superior prosecutor. I cannot predict whether the latter will use this authority or not,” said Armen Muradyan.
It should be reminded that the parents of the fallen servicemen are conducting a protest in front of the Prosecutor's Office. Earlier, the Prosecutor's Office had announced that on April 26, 2022, a number of parents and relatives of servicemen who were killed during the war unleashed by Azerbaijan in 2020 had submitted a request to recognize their loved ones as victims in a criminal case, which was granted.
