Former Human Rights Defender Tatoyan Shares Post

The Armenian government's policy of a "peaceful era" seriously jeopardizes the examination of Armenia's applications in international courts, including the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and the International Court of Justice in The Hague. This was stated by the former Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, on his Facebook page.

“The steps and statements of the priority officials, starting from the head of the government, accompany this policy. This is an irresponsible policy that lacks professional foundations and is conducted for narrow political interests, putting Armenia and Artsakh in serious danger, without guarantees. It is, of course, beneficial to the Azerbaijani and Turkish authorities. They are using the so-called 'peaceful era' policy to mislead the outside world while continuing to deepen anti-Armenian sentiment and ethnic and religious hostility, speaking with us solely with threats of destruction or devastation. In other words, due to the 'peaceful era' policy of the Armenian authorities, specifically the 'Civil Contract' party, our positions in the international arena are weakening and leading us toward losing international protection,” he wrote.
