China's Foreign Ministry Declares Country Not Interested in World War III
The Chinese authorities are not interested in a third world war and support the resolution of the Ukraine conflict through diplomatic means. This was stated on Tuesday by Wang Wenbin, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
“No one wants to see a third world war; it is necessary to support the promotion of peaceful negotiations between Russia and Ukraine,” he said in a press briefing, responding to a journalist's question regarding the recent remarks by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov about the threat of a third world war.
According to Wenbin, armed actions in Ukraine should not take on a prolonged nature. He highlighted the need to prevent negative consequences that could affect not only Europe but the entire world due to the Ukrainian conflict.
“We hope that all interested parties will manifest calmness and will not allow escalation,” the Foreign Ministry representative summarized.
Wenbin also added that Australian Defense Minister Peter Dutton's comparison of China to Nazi Germany is disgusting, asserting that such “crazy statements” aim to undermine the People's Republic of China and incite war.
“Politicians make crazy statements for selfish political purposes, advocating for war and defaming China,” he said, commenting on the recent words of the head of Australia’s defense structure who compared China to “an ambitious Nazi Germany.”
