Authorities Regret Decision: Will the Smoking Restriction Law Change?

According to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, the authorities have been seriously discussing in recent days how to amend the already adopted law "On Reducing and Preventing Harm to Health from the Use of Tobacco Products and Their Substitutes," which prohibits smoking in outdoor cafes and restaurants.

As is known, since March, hookahs and table ashtrays are not found in restaurants, as the smoking ban in public catering places, including outdoor cafes and restaurants, went into effect.

Now, according to the "Zhoghovurd" newspaper, there is an intention to lift some of the restrictions imposed by this law, as the authorities have already received signals that this ban is negatively affecting the operation of public catering venues as well as tourism.

It is possible that the smoking ban in outdoor cafes and specially designated areas will be lifted.
