Post-Election Protests in France Result in Casualties

Immediately following the announcement of the presidential election results, protests erupted in several French cities, including Paris. Participants expressed their dissatisfaction with the election outcomes. Protesters believe that a significant portion of the French public was deprived of a genuine choice in the elections due to the participation of Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen in the second round.

To disperse the protests, French police resorted to the use of tear gas. Simultaneously, another incident occurred in Paris where police used firearms. According to France-Presse, unknown individuals attempted to run over the officers stationed on one of the bridges in central Paris. In response, the police opened fire, killing two of the three individuals in the vehicle.

French sources have yet to clarify whether this incident is related to the second round of elections and the subsequent protests.
