Group Assaults and Beats Senior Police Officer

On April 24, an extraordinary incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 16:20, Emil I., a 34-year-old senior officer of the patrol service of the Armenian Police, encountered a group of individuals while on his way home after finishing his shift in the Narekatsi neighborhood of the Avan administrative district. One of the assailants, known as Zhora, unjustifiably attacked Emil I. with several companions, striking him with fists and feet, resulting in bodily injuries.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, information about the incident is being received at the Nor Nork Division of the Police, and shortly thereafter, the criminal investigation group from the Avan Division of the Nor Nork Division is taking necessary measures, resulting in the identification of Zhora's accomplices. As reported by G. Shamshyan, they include Yerevan residents: 19-year-old Gagik S., 18-year-old Martik K., 17-year-old Azat Kh., 17-year-old Arshak Kh., and 21-year-old Zhan H.

The police are undertaking necessary efforts to establish the complete details of Zhora and to locate him and his accomplices. Materials concerning the incident are being prepared at the Nor Nork Division of the Police. A forensic examination has been scheduled.
