Jesus Christ's Basalt Statue Vandalized in Yerevan
Today, April 23, another act of vandalism has occurred. The basalt statue of Jesus Christ located at the archway leading to the Saint Resurrection Church on David Bek Street has been damaged once again.
According to shamshyan.com, the statue's feet have been broken, its hands damaged, and the head section is also affected. The vandals even left a note at the scene. Police officers from the 1st squad of the 3rd battalion of the Yerevan Patrol Service, led by Commander Gor Arakelyan, arrived at the scene.
An operational group from the Erebuni police station also reached the site. Residents had recently replaced the statue, as the previous incident remains unresolved, and today they witnessed yet another act of vandalism. The gathered crowd hopes that this time the police will identify the culprit or culprits.
