Russian Defense Ministry Offers Surrender to Ukrainians Blocked in Azovstal
The Russian Ministry of Defense has again offered Ukrainian soldiers blocked in the Azovstal factory in Mariupol the chance to surrender, adding that they are ready to implement a "regime of silence" to facilitate the evacuation from the plant.
Furthermore, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that approximately 144,000 civilians and 341 foreign nationals have been evacuated from Mariupol, along with 1,844 servicemen of the Ukrainian armed forces who have surrendered.
It is worth noting that Russian Defense Minister Shoigu had previously reported to President Putin about the liberation of Mariupol. Shoigu also stated that more than 2,000 Ukrainian soldiers are currently blocked in the territory of the Azovstal factory.
