New Regulations to Prevent Underfilling at Liquid Fuel Sales Points
The government approved the requirements for measuring containers presented at retail liquid fuel sales points during its meeting today on April 22.
The justification for the decision states that this project is based on intergovernmental standards and the norms applicable in the EAEU member states regarding the use of measuring devices at liquid fuel filling stations.
With the adoption of this project, it is expected to increase the level of consumer rights protection and reduce or eliminate underfilling by sellers at retail liquid fuel sales points.
The main requirements for measuring devices in the project stipulate that the relative error of the measuring devices at temperatures of 20 °C ±10 °C cannot exceed ±0.5%. Additionally, it has been established that the difference between the quantity displayed on the fuel dispenser’s display and the nominal capacity of the measuring device cannot exceed 1%, taking into account the maximum relative error of the fuel dispenser's operation, which is ±0.5%.
To prevent fuel spillage during the refilling of liquid fuel, the project also provides for the requirement of the presence of foam suppressors, thermometers (temperature sensors), and leveling instruments on the measuring devices.
