The Fight Will Continue as Long as Artsakh's Status is Threatened: Nver Kirakosyan

Yesterday, various segments of society approached us, shared our concerns, and expressed their support. We feel that a significant part of society needs genuine impulses. This was stated today, April 21, during a conversation with journalists by Nver Kirakosyan, one of the participants in the hunger strike at Freedom Square, which has entered its fourth day.

When asked whether it is possible to end the hunger strike and continue their struggle without it, Nver Kirakosyan responded, “The struggle is for an idea and a value, and it will continue as long as that value is threatened, namely, the status of Artsakh. The hunger strike will cease when it becomes an end in itself, meaning when a critical mass of youth gathers and says, 'I am responsible for our heritage and am ready to act for it,' that is, not to be satisfied with the statuses. In that case, we will acknowledge that the hunger strike has fulfilled its purpose. The hunger strike is a tool to draw attention not to our individuals but to national issues.”

It should be noted that yesterday, the symbol of war, artilleryman Mnatsakan Avetisyan, joined the fight to defend Artsakh and Armenia. “The statehood of Artsakh and the right of our compatriots to live and create in their historical homeland are absolute values. I urge young people to join and mobilize for our homeland. We are waiting for you at Freedom Square at 19:30,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
