Russia has all the necessary financial resources, and the country is not threatened by any default (cessation of payments). This was stated by Elvira Nabiullina, the Governor of the Central Bank of Russia.

Earlier, White House spokesperson Jen Psaki stated that the sanctions imposed against Russia by the U.S. administration aim to force Moscow to choose between default and depleting dollar reserves amid the ongoing special operation in Ukraine.
