The Nagorno-Karabakh Issue Remains Unresolved: Armen Grigoryan

The Nagorno-Karabakh issue remains unresolved. This was stated by the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, during an interview on Public Television, in response to a question about whether the conflict is resolved and how this matter is articulated in the statement adopted following the Pashinyan-Putin meeting. He pointed out that Azerbaijan claims the issue is resolved, whereas Armenia does not.

“Naturally, the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is not resolved; this has been noted by almost all members of the international community. This also refers to that document, and it is clear that the issue is unresolved and requires a solution. We believe that it is possible to solve the problem with the active involvement of the international community,” he stated.

When asked whether that document states that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is unresolved, the Secretary of the Security Council remarked that, of course, if you look at it word for word, there is nothing written explicitly, but there is a mention of Nagorno-Karabakh, which also denotes a reference to the issue.

“There is also a reference to the statements made on November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021, and November 26, 2021, where the provisions regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue are clearly mentioned, and I believe that the reference is present in a better context, and the issue is not resolved,” he emphasized.
