On April 21, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited the city of Shushi in Artsakh, which has been occupied by Azerbaijan since the 44-day war. This information has been reported by Azerbaijani news outlets.

He familiarized himself with the construction progress of the Ahmadbeyli-Veranda (Fizuli)-Shushi highway and the tunnels along the route.

It is worth noting that on November 9, 2020, the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan reached an agreement on the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh, signing a statement that transferred seven regions of Artsakh, Shushi, and Hadrut to Azerbaijan, except for one village, alongside villages from the Askeran and Martuni regions, as well as the villages of Talish and Mataghis in the Martakert region.
