Guterres Sends Letters to Putin and Zelensky Asking for Meetings
The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has sent letters to the presidents of Russia and Ukraine, Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky, requesting to meet with him in Moscow and Kyiv. This was announced on April 20 by Stéphane Dujarric, the spokesman for the UN Secretary-General.
“Separate letters were delivered yesterday afternoon to the permanent representatives of the Russian Federation and Ukraine,” he stated.
Guterres aims to discuss any 'urgent steps' to cease military operations in Ukraine with the political leaders.
