Companies Leaving Russia Continue to Pay Salaries for 200,000 Employees: FT
Foreign companies that previously announced the suspension of their operations in the Russian Federation due to the special operation in Ukraine continue to pay salaries for nearly 200,000 employees. This was reported by TASS, citing the Financial Times.
According to FT, around 188,000 employees of multinational corporations are still on payroll. The publication notes that the actual number of such workers may be even higher, as some companies that have announced their exit from Russia did not specify in their press releases whether they would continue to pay their subordinates.
As Gazeta highlights, specialists in the manufacturing and retail sectors may soon lose their jobs if foreign companies do not resume operations in the Russian Federation.
Earlier, the Mayor of Moscow stated that due to the withdrawal or cessation of operations of foreign companies in Russia, around 200,000 people in the capital could be left without work.
