VIDEO: Quran Copy Burned in Sweden Amid Tense Situation and Clashes
In Stockholm and several other cities in Sweden, around 30 individuals have been detained for participating in mass riots. During the protests, 40 people were injured.
The unrest began after far-right politician Rasmus Paludan, who leads the Danish anti-Islam Stram Kurs party, announced that he had burned a copy of the Quran and would do it again, according to the Russian service of the BBC.
“The situation we saw in Malmo during the Easter weekend is absolutely unacceptable. We acted quickly and decisively and hope to succeed in every investigation. We need to analyze a sufficient number of videos,” said Malmo Police Chief Petra Stenkulan.
