Russia Opens Humanitarian Corridor for Soldiers Willing to Surrender from Azovstal

Russian military officials have opened a humanitarian corridor for Ukrainian Armed Forces servicemen and militants who wish to surrender from the Azovstal plant in Mariupol, announced Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of the National Defense Management Center. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

"Considering the catastrophic situation created at the 'Azovstal' metallurgical plant in Mariupol, and guided purely by humanitarian principles, the Russian Armed Forces have opened a humanitarian corridor for Ukrainian servicemen who voluntarily lay down their arms, starting from 14:00 Moscow time on April 19, 2022," said Mizintsev.

According to the general, a complete silence regime has been introduced for this purpose, and all military operations have been halted, with Russian troops and Donetsk units moved to safe areas.
