Lithuania Prohibits the Wearing of 'Georgian Ribbon' and the Use of Z and V Symbols
Lithuania has banned the wearing of the Georgian ribbon, as well as the use of Z and V symbols in public spaces. On Tuesday, lawmakers adopted amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses and the Law on Assemblies by a vote of 124 in favor, 2 abstentions, and 1 against.
One of the initiators of the ban, Monika Oshmyanskene, stated from the parliamentary podium, “These changes are necessary to ensure national security if we want to avoid the fate of Ukraine.” The penalties for violators will range from €300 to €700, and up to €1,200 for legal entities.
