Son of MP Attacks Gas Station Director with Metal Pipe

27-year-old Shant Bagratyan, a resident of Yerevan, has been arrested. According to shamshyan.com, he is suspected of assaulting 45-year-old Vahe Asatryan, the director of a gas station in Vayots Dzor Province, on April 2 and causing bodily harm.

Reports indicate that Shant Bagratyan is the son of National Assembly member Sergey Bagratyan, who is the director of Eco Oil LLC. He was located as a result of operational and investigative measures carried out jointly by the officers of the Main Criminal Police Department of the RA Police, the Vayots Dzor regional department of the police, and the Vayots Dzor regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. Shant Bagratyan has been transferred to the detention facility of the Vayots Dzor department of police.

The investigator will apply to the Court of General Jurisdiction of Ararat and Vayots Dzor provinces to request a two-month detention for the MP’s son.

As previously reported, on April 2, between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM, unidentified individuals entered the office of Vahe Asatryan, the director of the gas station owned by Tamsar LLC at the beginning of the city of Vayk, and assaulted him without any demands. One of them struck Vahe Asatryan with a metal pipe and then fled the scene. The gas station director, Vahe Asatryan, refused to file a report about the incident.
