"People Truly Understand What Danger They Face": Vanetsyan's Press Conference from Freedom Square
Yesterday, based on my personal decision, I came to Freedom Square and announced that I will hold an indefinite protest for one aim: for the security of our great homeland, for the security of our Artsakh Republic, for the security of our Republic of Armenia, for the existence of the Armenian people, and in general, to put an end to this shameful period that has been brought upon us by this government,” stated the leader of the National Assembly's "Honorary Duty" faction and president of the "Homeland" party, Arthur Vanetsyan, during a press conference at Freedom Square.
He emphasized that Nikol Pashinyan's recent speech has created a new situation, and the ideas and assessments expressed in that speech are unacceptable to the vast majority of the Armenian people.
“The most dangerous thing is that the speech was heard not only by us but also by the international community and the hostile country, and we can imagine what consequences all of this may have. That speech has received many assessments—it is the death knell for Artsakh and Armenia, it is the last speech of the 3rd Republic... We can give it other names as well, but there is no time; we must act immediately and try to get out of this situation,” said Arthur Vanetsyan.
According to the leader of the "Honorary Duty" faction, a large number of people have already joined the struggle initiated at Freedom Square. “People truly understand what danger they face. Everyone is ready to fight, to fight until the end. They come and say, ‘promise that you will go all the way.’ We will not leave until we liberate ourselves from this evil government,” assured Arthur Vanetsyan.
He emphasized that everyone’s only expectation is to put an end to the created chaos and to set the country back on a normal path.
