Ukrainian Authorities Allow Marriage via Zoom During Martial Law

Ukrainian authorities have permitted remote marriages, including via Zoom, during martial law. This was announced on Sunday by Deputy Minister of Justice Valeriia Kolomiets, as reported by TASS.

According to her, it is now possible to apply and formalize a marriage within a day. “Individuals who wish to marry can do so on the same day, and marriage registration can take place at any civil registration office in areas where there are no military operations. Under certain conditions, marriages can be registered not only by civil registration office staff but also by police and military personnel. This is applicable for lovers who are on duty; they can connect remotely simply through Zoom,” Kolomiets stated.

It is worth noting that martial law has been in effect in Ukraine since February 24.
