Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law imposing sanctions on individuals or legal entities that equate the roles of the USSR and Nazi Germany in World War II. This was reported by TASS.

In particular, the law stipulates that in case of a violation, a citizen will face a fine ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 rubles or administrative detention for up to 15 days. Officials will be fined between 2,000 and 4,000 rubles, while legal entities may be fined between 10,000 and 50,000 rubles. Penalties will be harsher for repeated violations of the law.
