Ukraine Began the 'War' Against Russia Even Earlier: Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, speaking about Russia's special operation, stated that Ukraine began this war earlier and that Kyiv must prepare to confront one of the world's largest armies.

As Zelensky noted in an interview with the BBC, preparing against such a country is complex, thus Ukraine needed assistance.

“That is why we wanted to be a part of NATO. That is why we stabilized the situation in Ukraine. That is why we needed strong leadership from my team. That is why we fought against certain political factions within our country. We began that war earlier,” he said.

According to him, Ukraine needed to prepare, particularly requiring money and weapons. “And we did just that: we talked. We privately agreed on certain deliveries,” Zelensky stated, adding that Kyiv negotiated with certain countries about certain matters as early as December and January.
