Tesla Exceeded Production Targets by Approximately 40,000 Cars Due to Lockdown
The American electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla has underproduced approximately 40,000 cars due to the coronavirus lockdown in Shanghai, according to Bloomberg.
Tesla's Shanghai factory halted operations on March 28, during which it had produced around 2,100 cars per day. As a result, the factory was unable to manufacture nearly 39,900 Tesla vehicles.
According to the CEO of electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng, if strict anti-COVID measures continue in Shanghai, all auto manufacturers in China will be forced to halt operations due to logistical issues as early as May.
