Eight Parents Who Lost Children in the Artsakh War Decide to Have Children

Eight parents of fallen soldiers from the 44-day Artsakh War applied to the Armenian Ministry of Health in 2022 to benefit from the state program for artificial insemination. Three of them have become beneficiaries of the program, while applications from five others are currently under review.

This information was stated in a draft decision adopted by the Armenian government today, which allocates 150 million AMD from this year's budget to the Ministry of Health for the implementation of the program, covering the annual cost of the initiative.

It is noteworthy that, according to official data, within the framework of the program, two children were born in the families of fallen soldiers during the first ten months of 2021. An additional 27 births are expected this year.

In total, as of January 2022, 200 families who lost children in the Artsakh War have submitted applications to the state program to have children.
