China to Conduct Comprehensive Military Exercises Around Taiwan

China has decided to conduct comprehensive military exercises around Taiwan in response to the visit of American congressmen to the island.

As reported by Armenpress, citing RBC, this was announced by the official representative of the Chinese Ministry of Defense, Wu Qian. The official termed the visit of the American delegation to the island as a premeditated provocation and stated that such actions are seriously undermining the political foundation of Sino-American relations and further intensifying tensions in the Taiwan Strait.

“The Eastern Theater Command of the People’s Liberation Army of China recently organized combat readiness inspections and conducted comprehensive military exercises in the maritime and aerial spaces around Taiwan,” said Wu.
