A Significant Event Took Place at the Artsakh Agavno Checkpoint: Aram Vardevanyan

At the Artsakh Agavno checkpoint, under incredibly unpleasant conditions, an important event took place—leaders of all parliamentary groups from Artsakh came to meet with opposition members of the National Assembly. I believe the essence of this meeting should be that we, our compatriots, the opposition, all non-governmental forces, will not tolerate this situation, we will unite, break free from complacency, and be effective and decisive. I am confident you know there is no other option.

This was stated by Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the National Assembly's 'Armenia' faction on his Facebook page.

“Yesterday, statements were made in the National Assembly that can be divided into two groups. 1) Details of the 44-day war, specifically the destruction of the narratives circulated by the authorities. There are several self-incriminating statements that today’s law enforcement agencies will not notice. Imagine, all of this is being said by a person who claimed 'Artsakh is Armenia and that's it.' This is being said by someone who explicitly abandoned the negotiation process, as he was starting from a 'zero point.' This reflects a lack of integrity and populism. I believe this is the reason why many parents of heroes express their outrage today, right after these revelations.

2) The second group concerns the 'promises of the future' from these authorities. The authorities, who have brought our reality to the point where opposition MPs cannot enter Artsakh, announced that they do not intend to defend the independence of the Republic of Artsakh. They are clearly preparing for the depopulation of Artsakh. They justify it by stating that THEY, these authorities have no other options. Let’s be clear — these authorities were NEVER given such a mandate by the ARMENIAN PEOPLE. Since April 13, 2022, there is no longer any assumption or analysis among the public. These authorities are ready to surrender everything, to give up everything. These are no longer just open and clear facts for everybody. These authorities have nothing to do with protecting the interests of Armenia and Artsakh, and they are stating this directly.
