VIDEO: Over 1000 Ukrainian Marine Soldiers Surrender

The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, announced that Ukrainian marines have surrendered in Mariupol:

“As a result of successful offensive operations by the armed forces of Russia and the militia units of the Donetsk People's Republic near the Ilyich Metallurgical Plant in the city of Mariupol, 1026 Ukrainian servicemen from the 36th Marine Brigade voluntarily laid down their arms and surrendered,” the general stated, according to Sputnik.

According to him, among those surrendered are 162 officers and 47 female servicemen. Konashenkov added that first aid was provided on the spot to 151 injured servicemen from the 36th Marine Brigade, after which they were all taken to the city hospital in Mariupol.

The operator from the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) filmed the surrendered soldiers. “Every third one is injured, and every tenth one has a severe injury,” Sladkov reported.

It is recalled that in the early hours of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the decision to carry out a special military operation against Ukraine, as the LPR and DPR appealed for assistance. In a televised address to the Russian people, he stated that the circumstances require decisive and immediate action. Military operations in Ukraine have been ongoing for 49 days.
